Yeah, I'm in the music industry. I'm very into it. Because like, I'm able to excel so I've reached five million streams before, but I've done it. I've done it without anyone noticing. That's on an underground level. I can excel by myself, but on the mainstream level—I do have competition there. The way I see the industry is that it's kind of corrupt in a way. Even just the words “industry” and “system”—they don't really bring positive connotations. I don't want to ever get mixed up in the bad side of the industry. There's 50 million artists out there, they're already doing exactly what I'm doing. Probably better. At least they’re trying.
About two or three years ago, there was a Modernization Act passed for artists, for them to have complete rights over their content. And I advocate things like that for people I know because it's very important for them to have full control over their art. Even though control might be an illusion. To have the full capacity of their content. Because if they're able to generate revenue, without, like, the full control of their content, then they can at least do something positive with it. That's really intense to think that that's something to be developed like that.
I identify more with poets. I write poetry. You don't have to have cadence, you don't have to have rhyme schemes. You don't have to have, like, a formula. I've developed my poetry over the years, so I'm able to speak in parables, but I'm also able to just write and create creatively. I try to write lyrics. Because I feel like if I could develop a song that can explain like a history of mine in a way, I can somehow portray a good song that can speak to the youth.
Marijuana—marijuana helps me in the long run, because as a kid growing up, I had a lot of surgeries. And you really can't tell, but I've had a lot of facial surgeries. And marijuana kind of soothes that. It gives me a sense of, like, if I was to create, like, the kind of song where like, I couldn't quite understand it, and it was something to offset my mind, it would be marijuana.
(Do you have a place to live right now?)
Currently, not really. Just like, I would say, planet earth.
